Rachel joined Averta Employment Lawyers in 2007 becoming a partner in 2008. She had previously worked as a senior associate for eight years at DLA Piper in Birmingham, alongside David Sykes and Alan Jones. At DLA she acted for various corporate clients in retail, banking, telecoms, manufacturing and other sectors and became an extremely capable and regular advocate in tribunal.
Additionally she was involved in training, workshops and seminars, together with large scale redundancies and restructuring exercises. These skills, converted to the benefit of the senior executive, have been further developed at Averta.
Rachel remains a keen and regular advocate both at employment and other tribunals, and has handled a number of complex multi-day discrimination claims securing significant sums on behalf of claimant clients.
Her expertise is such that she has been asked to act as an external expert, conducting complex grievance investigations and hearings on behalf of local authorities. Rachel has a great deal of empathy with her clients and, as such, regularly receives plaudits from individuals facing difficult tribunal claims or unpleasant situations at work.
