Specialist employment law firm, Averta Employment Lawyers, has announced the qualification of Billie Lews as a solicitor and the award of a training contract to Livvy McCormack.
Billie Lewis has been admitted as a solicitor following the successful completion of her training and professional studies. Lewis joined Averta in 2022 after graduating from Aston University with a law degree and followed up with a combined Legal Practice Course and Master’s degree in Law at the University of Law in Birmingham.
Before joining Averta, Billie gained extensive practical experience supporting individuals with employment issues while working at Birmingham People’s Centre, a charity providing free legal advice to those living and working in the city.
Livvy McCormack, who joined Averta in 2024 as a paralegal, has begun a training contract as the next step in her legal career. Livvy graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2023 and recently achieved a Master of Laws (LLM) with distinction.
Managing partner David Sykes said: “As a firm we have always had a commitment to developing legal talent. We are delighted to see both Billie and Livvy progress in their legal careers with us. Billie’s admission as a solicitor and Livvy’s training contract are well-deserved and reflect their hard work, dedication, and commitment to our clients.”
The firm expects both Lewis and McCormack to continue to play key roles in supporting clients and Averta’s solicitors and consultants.
Lewis said: “Qualifying as a solicitor is a proud moment for me, and I am grateful for the support and opportunities I have received at Averta.”
McCormack added about her new training contract: ““I’m excited to begin my training contract and continue learning from such a supportive and experienced team.”
